We chose to design the coat classic and minimalistic to make it a timeless piece that can be worn unisex. The coat and the inflatable shoulder / sleeve piece can be separated as they are combined through laces. This modularity makes the coat more wearable as it can be adjusted for different occasions and styles.

The coat features a concealed front button placket, a blind stitched hem, two big pockets in seam pockets and a slit in the center back.

 

The inflatable piece is the highlight of the coat. We created an organic inflated shape that can be applied on top of the coat. The sourced material is an used air mattress in shape of a French fries box that we found in the streets. This is a good example of upcycling a resource that was at the end of it´s first lifecycle and was in perfect condition for a second lifecycle.

It can be inflated and deflated through the air valve mouth piece on the sleeve.

 

Due to the process we are creating unique pieces in a limited quantity, each one individually counted and numbered .
